First day at the beach!

The three of us went to a tiny nearby beach on lake erie this evening. It was muffins first time to a beach. The beach was covered in dead fish. It was really gross. We walked until we could find a nasty free zone and then we introduced the muffin to the water. She had a great time picking up the sand and splashing in the water. She picked up a few rocks and shells which I will most certainly put in her scrapbook! It was around 6pm so we didn't bother with a suit and we let her soak herself. Showing her all the new stuff in life is such a joy. We had a really nice evening and muffin was silent on the way home and very sleepy!

Lemonade in the shade

I took the muffin up to our towns cultural center for a childrens concert this afternoon. She was entranced watching the musician sing and dance. We only got to watch for about a half hour and then they cancelled the show because of lightening! Unfortunately we walked the half a mile to the center and had to quickly walk home amidst the storm. Which freaked me out a bit!

Music Class

The muffin started her first music class today. It's through the activity center with our city. It's about a half hour long, and it just introduces kids to little instruments and songs and movement. Muffin loves music, so I thought this would be a lot of fun for her. Today she was very shy and
clingy. She clung to me and sat on my lap the whole time, not wanting to venture out. There was a "naughty boy" in our class that she seemed in awe of. He screamed and through fits the whole time. Yay! But the muffin kept starring at him! During free time, the other little girl in this photo took her drum stick away and the muffin cried and cried. We're learning how to share now! LOL! Luckily, we found another one to play with. Towards the end of the class she seemed to relax and really enjoyed banging on this drum. One of the girls from our playgroup is also in our class, so muffin knew someone and I think it helped to put her at ease. Friday we go to our first gardening class, the little girl from play group is in that class too. I'm excited; I think it will be a lot of fun for her.

Visiting the Alpacas

This is an Alpaca. No, it's not a baby. No, the head isn't weird. This particular one just didn't get shorn all of the way, his head is next. We thought it looked like a bobble head.
Alpacas are like Mini Lama's. They are super soft and like to cuddle. You can read all sorts of interesting facts about them here. I took the Muffin to see the Alpacas at a local farm. She was able to get right next to them. There were three babies. Two one week old babies, and one two week old baby.
If you look real close here on the left you'll see a black baby Alpaca. Muffin had just per this one and jerked her hand away just as the picture was being taken. This Alpacas name was Thunder. He was just a week old. He weighed 13lbs when he was born. They gain a pound a day.

Muffin preferred to look at them from a safe distance.
She even liked peeking at them through the gates.

But she didn't like it at all when they came up to her. This little fawn colored one was two weeks old. He was pretty active and freaked the Muffin out. He followed her all over the place.

Mostly though she thought it was fun looking through the rails, picking up the dirt and rocks, playing with the gate and some weird little harness that she found. When we first got there she was the only child there. The owner picked up the two week old to introduce them. Muffin was very leery, and when the Alpaca started to nudge and sniff her, the Muffin kinda freaked out. But after the other kids from her playgroup arrived, and they showed interest in the Alpacas and the Muffin saw that it was ok to touch them, she didn't seem to mind petting them...as long as she went after them, and not the other way around.

Let's go!

The muffin is peaking out the door. She just stamped her foot like her auntie M did, to kill a bug!

Yucky!

This is momma trying to get a crayon chunk out of my mouth. We walked up to applebee's ford dinner, a 3 mile trek. I relaxed in my stroller and let momma do all the work. We even saw a giant alive of pizza dancing on the side of the road. He even came over to talk to me. I pretended like I was all shy and unimpressed, but when he wasn't looking at me I was staring at him! I love pizza!
Oh and on Sunday I told my aunt J that I love her. And then I said I love you three times to my gramma! Yup! I'm brilliant!

Duck, duck, goose!

I took the muffin and kaida to one of the parks in town this morning. It's a huge park with wide open spaces where I could let the muffin roam with out to much worry. There were a ton of ducks there! Several of them walked up to us. A few of them had us cornered, hissing at us...and then I got the dog out!!! I got a bit nervous that I was gonna get bit. Once kaida was out of the truck they waddled off. The muffin and I wandered down near the stream where more ducks were. I said duck a few times and quacked a little. Right away she said duck several times. Then she made this noise with her cheeks that sounded like a duck call...not stupid quacking like momma was doing. She would say duck and then make that noise! She did it the entire time we were there, and then a few times at home. Sigh. She is so smart!

Baby Blues

Muffin gets compliment on her gorgeous blue eyes all of the time. I claim
them as my own, but truth be told her daddy's father has nice blue eyes too!
Shhh... I'll still claim them as my own! The little freckle above her left
eye is a trait passed down from her daddy, and daddy's momma. That was not
there when she was born, but I think it's the cutes darned thing!
Unfortunately I think she also inherited my wild bush eyebrows! Sorry
kiddo!

A tisket a tasket

Muffin's in a basket!! She's such a goof ball! She takes all of Kaida's
toys out of the basket, moves it to the middle of the room and then plops
her butt down in it. It cracks me up!
