Mommy & me time

Momma and I spent the evening at a small autumn festival tonight. It was pretty small, but we ate some junk food and rode some fun rides. It was a nice warm night and I was exited to see all the lights on the rides. I sure do love the roller coaster and the giant slide! I wasn't real fond of the bumper cars. i guess i didnt really understand what they were all about, and it freaked me out when momma ran into other people. I didnt think she was being a good driver. But after she explained we were supposed to hit them, i wanted to do it again. i also played the dart game and popped a balloon. i won a velvet flower ! it was a late night and i had trouble keeping my eyes open on the way home.

Raising a butterfly

Last Friday Momma and I found a couple of caterpillars.  One was a fuzzy white one with a black stripe, a White Hickory Tussock Moth caterpillar, which was venomous and left me with a nasty itchy rash on my hands, truck and neck that was miserable!  The other was this one, a Swallowtail butterfly.  He was hanging out on the parsley in our garden.  I found out I could bring him in the house and raise him into a butterfly!  Conveniently I already have a butterfly house.  So we put some parsley and some sticks (for him to hang his chrysalis from) in the habitat and hung it in the family room for me to observe.  I'm very excited!  It should only be a few days before he transforms into a chrysalis since he is already so large.  Then, if I'm lucky and he doesn't decide to overwinter, in a couple of weeks he'll be one of the largest butterflies in the country.

Learning to read

Muffin came home from school today and read me her very first sentence. "The cat is orange."

Getting ready for kindergarten!

Today my new school had open doors so we could come in and tour the school.  We walked all over the entire school so that I could get a feel for the place.  One of the kindergarten teachers was there, and as it turns out it looks like I'll be in her class along with one of my long time friends.  I was really glad to get to meet my teacher and see my classroom!

Choo choo!

For a little special one on one time, Momma took me to ride the trains at the park, and afterwards we went to see Turbo at the movies!  Having a new brother in the house is fun and exciting, but sometimes I feel pushed aside.  I has thrilled to be out and about on the town with Momma again.

I'm a big sister!

This is my new baby brother!  Momma had him on Tuesday!  I am beside myself with glee!  I love his tiny little ears and his gigantic feet!  I stayed with my Grandpa & Grandma when Momma went to the hospital to have him.  I was so excited to get to see him the next day!  I hold him as much as possible, and even tried to give him a bottle once while Momma was in surgery the next day.  I am so exited to be able to do that a bunch more.  I'm also having a great time seeing both of my grandmas so much.

Monkeyin' Around

Today I crossed the entire length of the monkey bars in one pass, my first time ever!  I am so proud of myself.  I just kept whispering to myself "You can do this.  You can do this." And then I did.

All good things must end...

After 6 fun weeks and tons of princesses, sadly today was the very last of my Princess Parties.  We had a scavenger hunt, I got a T-shirt and countless other goodies.  This was one of my most favorite activities ever!

Today I finally got to go for a pony ride!  I've waited all summer!

Princess party

Yesterday was my first Princess Party at the local theater.  It was so much fun I can't stop talking about it!  Ariel was the surprise process of the day.  We sang and danced and heard a sorry.  We made a craft and had popsicles.  I loved it.  Ariel even told me that I was a good dancer!

My uncle and cousins comes to visit

This past weekend my uncle and three of my cousins came to visit us.  We had so much fun!  We went to a local festival where we fed farm animals, rode a camel and a roller coaster.  One night we went to the movies to see Despicable Me 2, and later had a fire pit where we did sparklers and daddy let off some fireworks.  I also had to go to my princess party, but one of my cousins came to pick me up with Momma, so she was able to meet Cinderella and Princes Jasmine with me.  It was a great visit, and I had a lot of fun playing.

The pool, finally

We finally got to come to the pool!  Between the cool temps this summer and the rain, we haven't had much of a chance to swim.  But today is 88° and mostly sunny.

Art Class

This morning I started going to my science art class!  It was so weird!  We mixed corn starch, shaving cream, water and paint to create a really bazaar clay like substance.  It melted, but was hard at the same time.  It looked wet and sticky, but it was dry and slippery.  I had a really cool time!

Slip Slidin' Away

Today I am sick.  Momma says I have a summer cold.  And I was really sad today because I had to miss the last day of VBS where we were going to have a picnic and a party afterwards, and then spend the day hanging with my friends.  So we got out my little pool and we played with the water for a while.  Then Momma surprised me with my first slip-n-slide!!  Ooh man!  It doesn't matter how yucky I feel, this is the best thing EVER!!  I told Momma I could do this all day!!

Somewhere under the rainbow

This evening, while playing Uno, it started storming...while the sun was out!  We went out looking for a rainbow, and sure enough there was one off of the front porch!  In fact, it was a double rainbow!!  This is the first rainbow I remember ever seeing.  It was very exiting.  We even saw a huge steak of lightening go down right in front of the rainbow, it was amazing!
